Payday 3: From Perfect Heist to Fumbled Codes: A Bank Robbery Misadventure
After successfully navigating past the security gate, our next mission was to locate a high-ranking bank official for his retinal scan. Thanks to our team’s efficiency in confining much of the bank’s staff to a server room, I easily made my way into the executive’s office.
As I positioned the executive’s eyes towards the vault’s retinal scanner, our team lead began hacking his computer. This revealed potential vault keypad codes on my HUD. With the help of my UV light, I could see fingerprints on certain keypad numbers. Post the retinal scan, I was meant to input a code corresponding to those numbers. However, confusion arose. I wasn’t aware of the code list on my HUD, leading to a comedic communication breakdown on Discord. Misunderstanding our leader’s references to the “four options on the screen,” I kept looking at the executive’s computer. By the sounds of it, even our teammate (who had a grenade mishap) was losing patience.
The situation spiraled when an unnoticed civilian alerted the police. With the bank on lockdown and the vault now inaccessible, our only option was to revert to our backup: the thermite plan, essentially starting from square one.
I loved stealth and I always went pistol/suit build while my other 3 friends just went full fucking juggernaut. It worked pretty well but pistol/suit falls apart real fast on the higher difficulties.
